Faculty Member, Institute of English Studies
Lecturer in Textual Scholarship and English Literature
About
My current projects include a scholarly-critical edition of The Arrow of Gold (with Robert Hampson) for the Cambridge Edition of the Works of Joseph Conrad, a monograph tentatively titled "The Archaeology of the Poem" on the creative practices from William Wordsworth to Ted Hughes as they are apparent in the poets' manuscripts, and a bibliography of the works of T. Sturge Moore. I am also Executive Director of the T.S. Eliot International Summer School, which I co-organize with Ronald Schuchard of Emory University, and Editor of Variants: the Journal of the European Society for Textual Scholarship. I teach on such topics as Modern Literary Manuscripts and New Developments in Textual Scholarship on the Institute's London Rare Books School and the MA in the History of the Book.
